1999    Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) Public Relations Award, Honorable     Mention for the 1998 Summer Reading Program Unlock the Mystery-Read!

1999    Massachusetts Friends of the Libraries (MFOL), Honorable Mention, “Great Ideas Award” for Homebound Delivery Program.
 
2001    Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) Public Relations Award, Honorable Mention Bookmark Category for the 2000 Summer Reading Program Open Books, Open Frontiers bookmark.  

2001    Massachusetts Friends of the Libraries (MFOL), Second Place, “Great Ideas Contest” for circulating book bags for children’s materials.

2003    $7,500 LSTA federal grant award from Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners for “Wilmington Reads, One Book, One Community.”

2005    $3.4 million construction grant awarded by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. (Grant was forfeited in November, 2005 after voters rejected authorization for funding construction cost balance of $8.3 million).

2005    Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) Public Relations Award, Honorable Mention for “Vote! It Does a Nation Good” a collaborative teen program presented in 2004.

2006    VOYA (Voices of Youth Advocates) “Most Valuable Program Award” for “Vote! It Does a Nation Good” a collaborative teen program presented in 2004.

2007    Susan MacDonald, Children’s Librarian, was recipient of the Phyllis Allen Smith North Shore Council’s Annual Celebrate Literacy Award.

2007    Charlotte Wood, Head of Technical Services, was one of three Massachusetts Librarians to win an all expenses paid trip to the American Library Association (ALA) annual conference paid for by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

2007    $20,000 LSTA federal grant award from Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners for “Serving ‘Tweens and Teens.

2007    Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) Public Relations Award, First Place in the web site category.

2008    Christina Stewart, Library Director, received the “Unsung Heroine Award” from the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women for library makeover project. She was nominated by Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton.
