Bicentennial Room Policy
INTRODUCTION
The Bicentennial Room in the Wilmington Memorial Library was dedicated
in 1976, the year of our country's Bicentennial Celebration. The Bicentennial
Room houses the library's local history collection. The material in this
collection is not available for loan, except under special circumstances
when the Library Director or his/her designee may permit material to be
borrowed.
GUIDELINES FOR USE
- In order to use the Bicentennial Room, patrons must sign in and out at the main circulation desk. Advance reservation of this room is not available.
- Access to the local history collection is considered to be the priority for use of this room. Questions regarding research should be directed to the Reference Librarian in the Adult Department on the main floor of the library.
- Due to limited quiet study space in the library, this room is also available to patrons for quiet study.
- An atmosphere of quiet study and research must be maintained while using this room. Talking should be kept to a minimum.
- Due to limited available meeting space, the Bicentennial Room may not be available when needed for library purposes, such as, meetings of the Board of Library Trustees or the Friends of the Library Executive Board.
- No food or beverages are permitted in this room.
- Print material in this collection may be photocopied at the library's photocopiers.
