Book Donations
As of April 10, 2006, the library will no longer be able to accept book donations. The Friends of the Library will accept donations at 183 Middlesex Avenue (white building next to the library). The next drop off date is Saturday, December 2, from 9-12 noon.
A NEW PLAN FOR OLD BOOKS
The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library are no longer accepting donations of used books, DVDs, videos or music CDs at the library.
Why?
These donations occupy an already overcrowded and limited library space.
And
The library is in the process of reconfiguring limited space for optimum
library use.
Can I still donate my books to the Friends of the Library?
The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library have a new fundraising
plan for used book donations. Beginning in the fall, the Friends will
accept your used book donations once a month at a place and time to
be announced. The Friends request that you wait until the scheduled dates to donate
your books.
When will the Friends hold its next book sale?
This will be announced in the future.
If I cannot wait, is there another place to
donate my books?
You can take your used books to another public library in the area that
is able to accept used book donations on an ongoing basis. You can also
take your donations to a local organization called Got Books that is
located on Concord Street in North Reading. You can call them at 978-664-6555 or check the website www.gotbooks.com.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
