About the Friends
The Friends is a volunteer nonprofit organization with a simple mission: to promote public awareness of the library and to provide financial support for services and programs beyond the town’s budget. The library depends on the Friends’ financial support for library events, technology, furniture, and staff training. Visit our Facebook page for the latest Friends' news.
Join the Friends
Join the Friends to help make a good library a great library! Annual dues start at $5. All revenue from annual membership directly supports the library. Click here to join or pick up an application in the library or at the Book Store Next Door.
Volunteer
Interested in helping the Friends? We need volunteers to: staff the Book Store Next Door, help with fundraising, and serve on the Executive Board. Apply online or pick up a volunteer application at the library or Book Store Next Door.
Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is a non-profit book store operated by Friends and volunteers. All proceeds benefit the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Friends Executive Board
The Friends is governed by an elected executive board. The board meets the 1st Tuesday of the month, September-June, at 7 pm at the library. The meetings are open to all interested in attending.

Friends of the Library Membership renewal drive is underway! Your membership is a vital source of funding for the many wonderful well attended events. In addition, the Friends fund museum passes, equipment such as the new coffee maker in the front lobby, laptops, a new camera and camcorder and much more that make our library one of the best in the area. The Book Store Next Door has resumed its Wednesday hours. It is now open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm. Stop by and shop for a great selection of gently used books and other media at bargain prices. Donations of your gently used books are welcome during these hours. All proceeds benefit the library.

In keeping with the spirit of "Everything Chocolate" during February, the Friends of the Library have put together a Chocolate Gift Basket. The basket not only contains a variety of chocolate treats but also a $100 Williams Sonoma gift card, a $25 Godiva gift card and a $25 Lindt gift card plus two chocolate cook books. Tickets are for sale for $2 each or 3 for $5. The winner will be drawn on March 1st.
