About the Friends
The Friends is a volunteer nonprofit organization with a simple mission: to promote public awareness of the library and to provide financial support for services and programs beyond the town’s budget. The library depends on the Friends’ financial support for library events, technology, furniture, and staff training. Visit our Facebook page for the latest Friends' news.

Join the Friends
Join the Friends to help make a good library a great library! Annual dues start at $5. All revenue from annual membership directly supports the library. Click here to join or pick up an application in the library or at the Book Store Next Door.

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is a non-profit book store operated by Friends and volunteers. All proceeds benefit the Wilmington Memorial Library.
Hours, Prices, and Directions

Friends Executive Board
The Friends is governed by an elected executive board. The board meets the 1st Tuesday of the month, September-June, at 7 pm at the library. The meetings are open to all interested in attending.

    The Friends of the Library Book Store Next Door is open on Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm through August 26. The Book Store is also open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.  Shop for your beach reads at bargain prices and support the library! Please note that the Book Store is closed on Wednesday July 4.

    The Friends of the Library have put together a Red Sox Gift Basket full of a variety of items for Red Sox fans including two tickets to for the Red Sox versus Detroit Tigers game on July 31st at 7 pm. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5 and can be purchased at the main service desk.  The drawing will be held on July 2.

    There will be lots of great bargains during the month of April when the Friends of the Library Book Store Next Door celebrates its 5th anniversary.   Starting April 4, and continuing until the end of the month, you can buy a non-fiction book and get one free. Starting April 11, all non-fiction and children’s books will be buy one and get one free. Starting April 25, everything in the Book Store Next Door is on sale-buy one, get one free! Everyone who stops by the store on Saturday, April 28 will get a special treat while they last. The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.

    Annette Mattaliano was the winner of the Friends of the Library Girl Scout Cookie Gift Basket.  This gift basket raised over $900 which will help fund many of the events offered by the Wilmington Memorial Library.  Thanks to everyone who bought a raffle ticket.

    You can win 52 boxes of assorted Girl Scout cookies in the Friends of the Library gift basket fundraiser. One for each week of the year! Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets can be purchased at the main circulation desk on the first floor.  The winner will be drawn on Friday, March 30 at the library's After Hours Concert.

    Congratulations to Richard Steen, the winner of the Friends of the Library Boston Bruins Gift Basket! Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket. The gift basket made over $1600 in proceeds which will help support the many wonderful programs paid for by the Friends of the Library.

    Trying to stretch your holiday shopping budget? The Friends of the Library Book Store Next Door has a variety of books that are in mint condition for the reader on your list.  You will find wonderful holiday books for children of all ages.  A gift certificate to the Book Store Next Door is also a perfect gift for your child’s teacher or for your child! Gift certificates are available to purchase at the library’s main circulation desk and at the Book Store Next Door. The Book Store is open Saturdays for 10 am to 4 pm.
