Library Cards
Wilmington Residents
Any Wilmington resident who presents proof of residency (license, utility or tax bill) and a picture ID may apply for a library card; there is no minimum age. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with acceptable identification to sign their application. Children age 14 and over must have acceptable identification (school ID, license) or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with acceptable identification.
Other Massachusetts Residents
The Wilmington Memorial Library is a member of the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC), a network of over 30 area libraries. If you live in a town that is a member, simply obtain a card from your hometown library and it may be used at the Wilmington Memorial Library and in any other library in MVLC. If your card is from another network (NOBLE, Minuteman, Metro Boston, CLAMS, Old Colony, CW/MARS or SAILS), you may register it in our network.
Out-of-State Residents
Out-of-state residents must pay an annual fee of $75.00 to obtain a library card that can be used to borrow material at any library in MVLC. Out-of-state residents who work in Wilmington may obtain a "local use only" card with no annual fee that can be used only at the Wilmington Memorial Library.
Lost Card
Your first library card is free. The cost for a replacement card is $1.00.
Borrowing Responsibility and Privileges
You are responsible for all material checked out on your library card. A Wilmington library card in good standing may be used in any other library in MVLC. Your library card will also allow you to access a variety of online databases
