Behind the library’s circulation desk, there are four photographs depicting Wilmington’s Town Common in winter, spring, summer and fall. These beautiful photographs not only add color and warmth to the library, they provide a sense of the library’s connection to the Town Common. The following statement from the Town of Wilmington Master Plan 2001 further illustrates this connection: The Town Library is a vital component of the Town Common area, because it serves all Wilmington residents. In Wilmington, as in many towns, the library acts as an indoor “Commons,” where residents can meet and interact, both formally and informally.
Thanks to the Wilmington Arts Council for purchasing these photographs taken by photographer Alex Rodeski.
